Socialight (socialight.com) is an NYC-based technology startup that lets you use your cellphone to build and browse the living map. People use Socialight to explore and share their world in new ways, using location-based notes with text, pictures, sound, and video. We’ve been featured in The New York Times, Business 2.0, on Discovery Channel and CNN, and across leading blogs. Our client roster includes Ford Motor Company, Travel Channel, and Corona Beer.
We're looking for a superstar intern to work with us, learn from us, and help us build the business. We offer interns flexible hours in a laid-back office environment in downtown Manhattan.
We're a trailblazing company in a fast-moving industry. Are you right for this internship? You just might be if you are:
- Excited to work with a team that embraces Agile methodologies,
- Familiar with Ruby on Rails (on which Socialight is built) and want to learn much more,
- Comfortabl with the MVC (model-view-controller) architectural pattern,
- Well-versed in OO Programming, and
- A self-starter who truly cares about user experience.
You get bonus points if you:
- Have a passion for mobile technology and maps.
- Show us some of your recent work.
- Have worked on a project with Ruby on Rails.
We also have full-time positions available if you have experience working in Ruby on Rails.
