Ruby on Rails Engineer - Entry/Junior level Job
Socialight is a mobile software company founded in 2005. We let people and businesses attach multimedia content and social interaction to real-world places. People find and add content with location-aware mobile, web, and other applications that access the platform via Socialight's API. Some of our customers are Ford Motors, Travel Channel, and Corona Beer.
Socialight is looking to expand their talented team with a Ruby on Rails engineer.
We're looking for someone to:
• Be a self-motivated creator of world-class software that people will actually use (and enjoy using!)
• Work hard and collaborate with a small team
• Have a significant impact on the direction of the company
• Work independently to find creative solutions to complex problems
• Create an innovative product that will change the way people see the world and use their cell phones
• Have 0-2 years of experience with a strong interest in Ruby on Rails. Entry level accepted, as long as there's interest in for Ruby on Rails.
You must be extremely comfortable with:
• Ruby on Rails (or other similar technologies with a passion/interest in learning Ruby on Rails)
• Standards-based web design and XHTML/CSS (not necessarily an expert)
• REST web services
• Versioning software such as GIT or subversion
• Databases (preferably Postgres or MySQL)
• Open-source software
• Agile-based/dynamic development processes
The following are pluses:
• iPhone Development experience
• Understanding of Ruby on Rails systems administration
